Central village pub that has changed owners a few times over the recent years. Friendly atmosphere now, with a good selection of beers. Didn't try the restaurant; maybe next time.
Booked for Christmas Day meal for 11 paying 100 pp to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The service was poor, the staff were young and inexperienced with no customer service. Instead of being greeted by Merry Christmas can I please take your name I was greeted by have you booked have you booked!? Obviously it was Christmas Day of course I have booked! The food was ok although the delay between course was ridiculous. The vegetables were hard and the potatoes not nice. And to finish we were rudely asked to take our drinks to the bar as they need the table back. After such slow painful service I was disgusted. Would not recommend and certainly never visit again.
Nice friendly pub with a good restaurant. Management and staff very good. Had a few issues with kitchen staff on our last visit. I like the menu
We booked The Plough at Shenstone for Christmas lunch on a Friday. We ordered parsnip soup and Thai fish cakes to start with followed by the beef and Yorkshire pudding and we finished with the sticky toffee pudding. I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. The beef melted in my mouth, the mash was creamy and very tasty. Everything was lovely presented and the main was massive.Service was excellent. The only downside was the could temperature which is a shame. Such lovely resturant , spoilt by the cold temperature. That's the only reason I haven't given 5 stars. I am hopeful this will change in future.
It was a spontaneous visit for dinner... and what a treat !! It was delicious and served quickly in a very nice ambiance. We felt welcome and surely we will visit this place again. Best pub meal we had for a long time ! Brilliant
